Researchers at the University of Texas Anderson Cancer Center, Kumamoto University and the University of Rochester Cancer Center are finding some encouraging results in early tests involving the yellow spice, Turmeric.

Their early results suggest it may help slow multiple myeloma and possibly other types of cancer.

It has also been shown to help impede the production of the Interleukin-8 protein, which is secreted in higher-than-normal levels by tumors.

Among these effects, other premliminary tests on mice showed that Turmeric helped decrease skin irritation during radiation therapy.

All of these tests seem to be preliminary, and performed on extracted cells or mice.

Which delivery mechanisms are effective or practical; whether injected, topical, or systemic aren't yet clear from this article.
